Job Oberman aka Oceanic keeps a relatively low profile. The Rotterdam-based, ex-Clone employee tries to stay out of the limelight, quietly dropping releases and keeping intellectually stimulated with an interest in urban sociology. In 2016 he introduced the world to his O.C alias: releasing a wildly popular EP for Nous’klaer Audio being traded second-hand for astronomical sums of money.

Dividing into two aliases so early in his career means Oceanic is hard to pigeonhole. So far, he’s explored raw tribal house, upbeat balearica, glimpses of analog techno and those costly disco edits. As a selector he is even harder to categorise – veering from lush ambient to reverb-soaked dub techno and sporadic broken beats.

Keep an eye on Oceanic in future for more high-quality performances and high-priced records.
